Hello everyone! Sorry it's been a while since using the Journal function, I've been focusing on other work. I come to you all now since I wanted to ask a question as far as what you all would like to see for a big future map of mine that I'll be working on in the background of some ongoing projects (I actually have a number of maps done right now but am waiting to post them all at once; sorry for that).
The map is a long-overdue sequel to a map I posted all the way back in 2014:
I bought books to research a whole TL for it and have been working on it on and off ever since, but only now really started moving forward on it. Which brings me to my question. I could, on the one hand, do the map for the entirety of North America in this world on Illustrator, using a tutorial by the illustrious and wonderful
which would look nice, but be limited by the basemap and what I can add to it.
The other option would be to try and do it on QGIS, with what knowledge of it I have now, trial and error,
begging asking for help where I can find it, and tutorials. I'd be able to do more with it and probably add a bit more detail and such...but it'd take a lot longer to do almost for sure. So instead of having a new non-raster/political map on here within, say, 3 months, it may be as long as 9 months, but it'd be more detailed.
So, well, I figured I would throw the question to all of you and see what y'all think.
